Secretary of States

Dear Madame Secretary ,

I am writing to you on behalf of myself and millions of my compatriots in Iran, in the United States, Canada,Europe,Australia, New Zealand , Japan and.... You can be rest assured that I am here articulating on behalf of all of them, inside and outside of Iran. At my age and with my background I know them well.

Excellency ,

Ambassador Denis Ross, after his investiture, was reported by the Press to have become" Special Advisor to the Secretary of State for the Gulf and Southwest Asia." affairs. Despite the many letters sent by Iranians to The State Department, The State Department kept silent on that reporting .As you very well know Excellency all the Gulfs in the world have a name. Why now hesitate to use the proper name for the Persian Gulf and instead call it by a misnomer?

You recall Madam Secretary that, just about twenty-five days ago General David Petraeus, Commander of the US forces in the Persian gulf region,for the first time,since he started his mission in the region,several years ago, on April 1, 2009 ,while testifying before the Senate Arms Services Committee used the term " Arabian Gulf ",several times,whilst referring to the Persian Gulf - a body of water known as such since nearly 3000 years back.

In our world there are nearly eighty known Gulfs. Every single one of them is known by a long standing specific name, such as the Gulf of Mexico,the Gulf of California, the Gulf of Finland, the Gulf of Suez .the Gulf of Oman , the Gulf of Bengal , the Gulf of Aden , the Gulf of Main , the Gulf of Benin ,the Gulf of Lion ,the Gulf of Trieste, the Gulf of Iskenderun, the Gulf of Gascogne, the Gulf of Salonique,...When did anyone change or attempt to change the name of one of them, so that today for the sake of pleasing the Arab States , the Persian Gulf be the next ? Who in our world has the right to change historical names ? Fifty percent of the circumference of the Persian Gulf , borders Iranian soil. Which other neighboring country occupies such a historical and factual position ?

Madame Secretary,

Be rest assured that, we more than you , abhor that bellicose ,terrorist ,gross and systematic violator of human rights of the Iranian people , in Iran. As Iranians, however it is natural that the interest of Iran and Iranians and preservation of our homeland and our national heritage would reign supreme, in our minds.Thus Iran's sovereignty, territorial integrity and it's rights and obligations , under the generally accepted rule of international law , remain our concerns .

Myself and over two million people of Iranian origin today live in the United States.We are free people,not like our kin folks who live in bondage in Iran .Foreign policy of course today is your domain, but we have the right to raise our voices and try to prevent you from playing games with our national heritage.

Before you continue , not calling that body of waters by it's proper name and General Petraeus goes as far as even defying you and concocting the title of " Arabian Sea" for the Persian Gulf , to satisfy his Arab counterparts, both you and the President must be concerned with the opinions of 70 million Iranians who have been the US supporters and that you stand to lose for sure, if you continue this course .

Dear Mr. President,

I am a US Permanent resident from Iran .I have followed developments in Iran , on daily basis , for the past 30 years . Although, I know , the White House will never answer letters of this nature, for history's sake and in memory of my seven assassinated colleagues outside and tens of thousands of others who have been executed or are behind the bars, in Iran , and being tortured , for merely opposing oppressive policies of the clerical dictatorship and demanding the respect of their rights, I feel obligated to address this letter to you today

Mr. President,

There is no question in my mind that by now, you know fully well, that the clerical regime in Iran,has been and remains today , one of the most consistent and flagrant violators of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the world .Its yearly , population percentage rate of executions is the first in the world . It is among the rare countries in the world where even minors can be executed or where they stone people to death, gouge eyes, cut arms,legs,fingers and flog people.To be rest assured of all that, all that your Office needs to do is to take a cursory glance at the State Department's Annual Reports on the status of violations of Human Rights in the world for the past 28 years, read the Annual Reports of the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Annual Reports of various UN Special human rights Rapporteurs as well as the annual reports of the Reporters Without Frontiers, on Iran .

You must know Sir that , the principal of "Peoples Consent ",as the basis of governments legitimacy is not an accepted principal in the Clerical Establishment in Iran. As you know,"Elections" under their system are nothing but a hoax .They pick their favored sons and daughters and tell the people to go and vote for them .

Iran is a party to the Charter of the United Nations which in at least five of its articles ,categorically forbids any form of discriminations on grounds of race, color ,sex, language, religion,national or social origin.The clerical regime has been discriminating on all those grounds for 30 years. Iran is a Party to both U.N. Covenants on Civil and Political Rights and on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The Clerical Regime has been grossly and consistently violating the terms of those Covenants for the past 30 years.Iran is a Member of the International Labor Organization .The clerical regime for the past 30 years has been violating the basic terms of all of the ILO 's most crucial Conventions and Recommendations.

Only yesterday, the Tehran Clerical regime ,after a show trial of less than 24 hours , sentenced a 31 years old, US/Iranian journalist , Roxana Saberi, to six years prison term , under the hocus charges of "spying for the United States". Only yesterday, against generally accepted International norms and Conventions, it sentenced to death Delara Darabi,a 19 year old girl, for a crime, she is alleged to have committed, when she was a minor,17 years of age

Mr. President,

Concern for the situation of human rights in other countries, has always been the bulwark of the Democratic Party administrations in the United States.The Republican Party has also much to be proud of in this respect , as well . President Carter's Helsinki Forum , President Reagan's ," pull that wall down Mr Gorbachev" remark and President Bush's presentation of a Congressional Gold Medal to the Dalai Lama , are but a few examples of that.

In 1792 Thomas Jefferson, at the time the Secretary of States stated " It accords with our Principles to acknowledge any government to be rightful (de jure) which is formed by the will of the people, substantially declared." It is a matter of common knowledge that the clerical regime in Iran does not fit into that criteria.

In view of the above, Mr. President , on behalf of millions of freedom loving , silenced voices of my compatriots in Iran and millions of people of Iranian origin in the United States and in the world at large , I humbly urge you Sir, to demand of your colleagues who sit with the representatives of that regime , to include the issue of respect for human rights in Iran and the illegal confiscation of the properties and pensions of tens of thousands of , by now the US and the European countries citizens ,among the agenda items of their discussions.

In anticipation of hopefully hearing from you, please accept Mr. President the assurances of my highest considerations.

متن دادخواست و شكايت دكتر منوچهر گنجي بر عليه نقض فاحش و مستمر حقوق بشر توسط " رژيم جمهوري اسلامي" در قبال ملت ايران، خطاب به آقاي بان كي مون دبير كل محترم سازمان ملل

  Excellencies,

 As a former Officer of the UN Division of Human Rights,  the former UN Special Rapporteur on Apartheid and Racial Discrimination in southern Africa ( for 3 years) , the former UN Special Rapporteur  on the Realization of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in all UN Member States( for 4 years)

,and also as the former Member of the Sub-Committee on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities( for 6 years) and the Committee on Human Rights( for 3 years), it is  with a great deal of pain and deep emotion that I wish to call your urgent attention to the ever deteriorating condition of gross  and   systematic violations of human rights in my country Iran . 

As your Excellencies are well aware, Iran is a party to both UN Covenants on Human Rights and yet with impunity,for the past 30 years, it has been grossly and systematically violating it's ,international obligations under the terms of those legally binding instruments, as well as it's universal obligations under the human rights provisions of the Charter of the United Nations ,inter alia, involving the international rule of non-discrimination against women and minorities. 

As you  can easily surmise Excellencies, I spent some 8-9 of the best years of my life   without salary,with only a minimum per diem, traveling to far away places, in over 70 of  the poorest countries of the world ,  in the service of International Protection of Human Rights. With all humility ,I think today those of you who are in charge of the progress of international protection of human rights , owe it to people like me , to do something more effective, to stop the ever increasing march of gross and systematic violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms in countries like my home country Iran , and to make sure people hear of what you have done. Otherwise  you would not be  encouraging those who must follow the footsteps of people like me.

As an example of all sorts of violations and atrocities being committed in Iran today , and particularly in it's dungeons ,  day and night, please  take a brief look at the attached: :

جناب آقاي باراك اوباما رئيس جمهور ايالات متحد آمريكا

طي مدت دو سال گذشته، مبارزات انتخاباتي شما را با علاقه هر چه بيشتر دنبال ميكردم. بيش از هر چيز علاقه داشتم ببينم سياست دولت شما طي چهار سال آينده نسبت به موضوع بسيار مهم نقض فاحش و مستمر حقوق بشر و آزاديهاي اساسي مردم ايران ، كه در طول 29 سال گذشته، از جانب آخوند هاي حاكم در ايران ادامه داشته، و به طور مرتب بدتر شده است، چگونه خواهد بود.

امروز با مطالعه مصاحبه مبسوط شما در روزنامه معتبر ايتاليايي كورير دلاسرا  به تاريخ دهم نوامبر 2008 ميلادي براي اولين بار طي 29 سال اخير احساس وزيدن نسيم زندگي بخش تازه اي را، با خواندن پاسخ هاي شما نسبت به حمايت از حقوق و آزاديهاي اساسي مردم ايران از جانب دولت شما را نمودم. اميدوارم چنين باشد

با توجه به مطلب فوق، از موقعيت استفاده نموده ضمن تبريك انتخاب رياست جمهوري شما اميدوارم در تحقق بخشيدن به سياست اعلام شده فوق در مورد كشور من ايران موفق باشيد

متن نامه هموطنان داخل کشور پاسخ به تلاشهای دکتر منوچهر گنجی و یارانش در جنبش نافرمانی های مدنی 

بنام بخشنده بزرگ، آفريننده كلام ، خداوند انصاف ، داور برحق

 يارِ دور از من و همراهِ من !، حال كه هموطنانت در مسير بسيار سخت و در دنياي بي رحم ناعدالتي، بي دفاع در برابر سختي ها و ناملايمات زندگي، سر تسليم فرو آورده اند،  بدان كه تنها مبارزه آنها با اين جور و ظلم و بي عدالتي تنها  ذكر اورادي شده است كه هر صبح تا شام بر زبان مي رانند....

 حال كه  توان هر گونه مبارزه با موانع سعادتشان از آنها ربوده شده است و امنيت و سلامت خود را از دست داده اند و تنها مبارزه اشان رساندن حرفهاي دلشان به خودشان است و نه به باعثان..........  

و حال كه در برابر اين همه ناملايمات و بلاها  بي دليل صبر را پيشه خود ساخته اند تا بقول خود صاحب اصلي اين زمان فرا برسد و با اين اعتقاد پوچ يكديگر را به قعر ناداني و جهل فرو برده اند .....

تنها وجود اشخاصي مانند شماست كه مي تواند چراغ راه اين خاموش ذهنان باشد ....

بدان براي صحرايي كه ما در آن زندگي مي كنيم نام مستعار بهشت گذاشته اند كه حتي جويباري از رحمت الهي ديگر در آن جاري نيست ...... صورت هيچ بچه اي ديگر مثل گل نيست .......  خنده اي از اعماق دل بر لب هيچ كس جاري نيست  ....... دستي از روي مهر بر شانه هيچ كسي  نواخته نمي شود ..........

امنيت و آينده و حتي نام زندگي و نام وطنمان  به سخره گرفته شده و اونقدر اين بي خردان زندگي را به فساد كشانده اند تا بتوانند  بقول خود صاحب اصلي اين زمان  را در شرايطي كه بايد، به ظهور برسانند تا بتوانند بر طبق افكار پوسيده و مربوط به 1400 سال پيش كه بي دينان براي دينداران وضع كردند  خود پا بر ركاب او باشند ........

دليل هاي زيادي وجود داره تا بتونم بهت بگم چه بر سر ما مي رود و ما را  چطور وقتي خوابمان نمي آيد مجبور مي كنند خود را به خواب بزنيم ...........

نمي دانم اگر تكنولوژي و علم و دانش نبود ....... اگر افتخار و آزادگي مردان گذشته ام نبود  ....... اگر غرور مردان انديشمندي  چون شما كه وجود و زندگي خود را وقف بيدار كردن هموطنانشان  مي كنند نبود...... چه بر سرما مي رفت ..........

مطمئناً  هيچگاه پرده جهل و ناداني نه تنها از جلوي ديدگان انسانهايي كه خود را به خواب زده اند كنار نمي رفت بلكه هوشياران نيز به خوابي عميقتر فرو مي رفتند .......

بدانيد كه وجود شماست كه هر روز بر تعداد بيداران مي افزايد و خواسته و ناخواسته به فكر واداشته مي شوند ..... شايد هنوز در اين ميان باشند افرادي كه دلشان مي خواهد اين خواب بي خبري شيرين روزي به مرگ وصال دهد تا به بهشت وعده داده شده بروند ........ اما هستند كساني كه در انتظار صبح روشني هستند كه پس از خواب به خورشيد سلام دهند ........ همان صبحي كه خداوند به حق بعد از سياهي شب به سپيدي بر مي گرداند ....

اين دوران سياه بايد و بايد و بايد به سپيدي برسد ... اگرچه شب طولانيي است اما با افروختن چراغ دانش شما عالمان و آگاهان اين امر ميسر خواهد شد و ما خواهيم توانست فاصله بين اين شب را به سپيدي صبح فردا نزديكتر كنيم  ...........

من از جانب خود و همه اون كساني كه به كمك تو و يارانت  از خواب بيدار گشته ايم ،  تشكر مي كنم و از اين كه  در صدد چاره جويي بر آمده ايد ........ كه ما را  كه به شما تعلق داريم  .......... كه از گوشت و پوست و خون و حتي خاكي هستيم كه شما هستيد.......  را ياري دهيد،  تا خود بدانيم و بفهميم كه هستيد  ياراني اگر چه در دوردست.........  اما  دستاتون مي تونه درد ما رو بنويسه ...... باورمون كنه ......... و چاره اي براي پس گرفتن خانه ام از دست بي خانمان برسر راهمان بگذاره ............. من از دور دستي را مي بوسم كه بتونه با قدرتش كمر خميده مردمانم را صاف و كمر دشمن خنده و شادي هاي كودكانم را بشكند............  حتي اگر در آن دست تنها و تنها و تنها يك قلم باشد براي نوشتن خورشيد تا بتونه اميد رو در دل مردمانم روشن كنه ..........

چراغ دانش و علم تان همواره پرفروغ ......... صدايتان براي بيدار كردن آناني كه در خواب هستند همواره رسا ........ و دستتان براي گرفتن دستانمان هميشه گرم باشد .........................

در آخر ، نگذاريد آناني كه با صداي شما  بيدار شده اند با نشنيدن صدايتان به اجبار آنان را باز به خواب برند كه اينبار اين خواب مرگ آنها خواهد بود چرا كه تحمل بيداران براي آناني كه شبانه هستيمان را به تاراج مي برند بسيار سخت است ............
